Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and LocalStudio Labs LLC ("we", "us") covering your use of SteadyInk.
The service
SteadyInk reads a document you connect and reports statistics about your writing progress. It is a tracking tool. It is not a backup service, and you should not rely on it to preserve your work.
Your account
You need an email address to sign in. You are responsible for the security of your email account. You must be at least 13 years old to use SteadyInk.
Your writing is yours
You keep all rights to everything you write. Connecting a document does not give us any ownership of it, and does not give us permission to use it for anything beyond providing this service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions and payment
SteadyInk is offered as a paid subscription after a free trial. Prices and billing periods are shown before you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of your paid period. Payments are processed by Stripe. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
Acceptable use
Do not use SteadyInkto break the law, to interfere with the service or others' use of it, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's data.
Availability
We aim to keep SteadyInkrunning and to count your document daily, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Counting depends on Google's APIs, which are outside our control.
Ending your use
You may stop using SteadyInk and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms.
Disclaimers and liability
SteadyInkis provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of your use of SteadyInk is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make significant changes we will update the date above and notify you by email. Continuing to use SteadyInk after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any dispute will be handled in the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York.
