Changelog
Beta v0.1.9 — August 2026
Dashboard charts, full history, and a tidier layout.
- newCharts on your project dashboard: a progress-over-time line against the pace you need to hit your goal, plus a bar chart of your recent daily writing.
- newBrowse your full day-by-day history, not just the last stretch — handy after importing past word counts.
- changedRearranged the project dashboard so charts take the main area, with your milestones and quick stats alongside.
Beta v0.1.8 — August 2026
Import your past writing history.
- newImport your writing history. Paste word counts from a spreadsheet or another tracker and SteadyInk adds them to your project — so your past progress shows up alongside what it tracks going forward.
Beta v0.1.6 — August 2026
Milestones and rewards.
- newMilestones and rewards. Set your own word-count milestones on a project, promise yourself a reward, and SteadyInk celebrates the moment you hit it.
- newA Milestones page showing every milestone across your projects, with progress and how far you have to go.
Beta v0.1.5 — August 2026
A sidebar, an all-projects dashboard, and a dedicated Settings page.
- newA new sidebar to move between your dashboard, projects, and settings. On phones it tucks into a menu.
- newA dashboard that shows every project's progress at a glance.
- changedAccount settings, including deleting your account, now live in their own Settings page instead of inside a project.
Beta v0.1.4 — August 2026
Dark mode.
- newDark mode. Switch between light and dark from the header, and SteadyInk remembers your choice.
Beta v0.1.3 — August 2026
Fairer pace maths and a heads-up when a check can't reach your document.
- changedYour pace and acceleration no longer count days SteadyInk couldn't check. Only the days it actually measured are included, though rest days you take still count.
- newIf a daily check fails to reach your document, your dashboard now tells you, so you can reconnect instead of quietly missing days.
- changedThe connection panel now shows which document you're tracking and when you connected it.
Beta v0.1.2 — August 2026
Delete your account and all your data whenever you want.
- newYou can now permanently delete your account and all your data from Settings. This removes every project and all your history, disconnects your manuscript, and can't be undone.
Beta v0.1.1 — July 2026
Rollup fixes, clearer adjusted days, and a couple of dashboard additions.
- fixedIn your history view, nested Parts now show their combined total instead of 0. If you group chapters inside a "Part" tab, the Part's row now adds up everything inside it.
- changedWhen you adjust a day, its chapter breakdown no longer shows the per-chapter changes that the adjustment replaced, so the numbers don't contradict each other. The chapter totals still show where your manuscript stands.
- newYour dashboard now shows how many days are left until your target date, alongside the pace you'd need to reach it.
- changedTimezones now display in plain language (like "Eastern Time") instead of technical names.
Beta v0.1.0 — July 2026
The first public beta of SteadyInk.
- newConnect a Google Doc and track your manuscript automatically — no manual daily entry.
- newA dashboard of what actually matters: total progress, required pace vs. your 7-day average, writing streak, day-quality mix, personal-record pace, acceleration, and per-chapter progress.
- newChapters come from your document's tabs, with nested tabs rolled up into Parts.
- newWord-level daily tracking that tells added from removed, so revising days show as churn (“+300 / −1,100”) instead of losses — and count toward your streak.
- newOff days and revision days are treated as normal parts of writing, never as failures.
- newPaste-aware: highlight pasted research in magenta and it's counted toward your total but not your daily writing — SteadyInk never edits your document.
- newAdjust any day that looks wrong (moved text, forgotten highlight, or set it manually) without changing your underlying counts.
- newSync on demand, or let the nightly count run in your own timezone.
